Junk Removal across Southwest Michigan
Junk removal comes in two shapes here. Most people take the self-service route: we deliver a roll-off to your property, you fill it on your own schedule, and we pick it up when you are finished. If you would rather not load it yourself, ask about full-service junk removal and disposal for a large cleanout — tell us what needs to go and we quote it.
The rule of thumb on the phone: renovation debris, yard waste, a construction site or a multi-day cleanout you will load at your own pace suits a self-load dumpster; a pile you want handled for you is a conversation about full service. Either way it is one call to (269) 292-6313.
At a glance
What you get with junk removal
- Self-load dumpsters from 10 to 40 yards, priced flat by container size
- Full-service junk removal for large cleanouts — ask when you call
- Furniture, mattresses, appliances where accepted and properly prepared, office junk and shelving
- Same-day or next-day availability may be possible
- Eligible materials recycled, and reusable items donated when appropriate
- Multi-load and ongoing projects quoted individually
Cleanouts, turnovers and the one-off pile
Home cleanouts are the biggest category: decluttering, garage, basement and attic cleanouts, and moving preparation. Property managers come next with tenant move-outs and rental turnovers, then businesses: offices, warehouses and retail stores with old furniture, shelving and fixtures. Then the one-off pile: furniture and appliances, renovation debris, or branches and damaged materials after a storm.
Some things we cannot take: paint, fuel, oil, chemicals, asbestos, medical waste and batteries. Household paint and chemicals belong at a household hazardous waste collection — Calhoun County holds one for county residents, and the Kalamazoo County Household Hazardous Waste Center at 1301 Lamont Ave serves residents of Kalamazoo County and participating communities, with eligible small businesses by appointment.
Junk removal or a dumpster — which is better?
A rough rule: if it is renovation debris, yard waste, a construction site or an ongoing cleanout, a roll-off on the driveway is usually the better deal, because you load it at your own pace and the dumpster is priced flat by container size. If it is a large cleanout you want handled for you, full-service pricing is based on volume, debris type and logistics, and multi-load or ongoing projects are quoted individually. Either way you get clear pricing up front, so there are no surprises. We will say which makes sense on the phone.

Junk removal — the local specifics
Most public options stop short of a real cleanout. Battle Creek's curbside bulk pickup does not take construction and demolition materials, tires or roof shingles, and the City's fall cleanup and scrap tire events are for people living in the City only. Springfield residents get one bulk item a month, scheduled through the City. Kalamazoo's bulk pickups run four times a year, up to 7.5 cubic yards each, with no construction or renovation materials, and none for downtown properties or buildings of five or more units. Marshall's bulk pickup is a single day with a 3-cubic-yard cap. Tekonsha does not pick up large items such as chairs, couches and mattresses with the regular trash. A cleanout is for the pile that cannot wait for a cleanup day, or does not qualify for one. Eligible materials go to recycling centers for metal, cardboard and select debris, reusable items to donation when appropriate, and yard waste to yard waste facilities where available.
Answers
Junk Removal — your questions answered
Not covered here? Call (269) 292-6313 and ask.
How is junk removal priced?
Dumpster rentals are priced flat by container size. Large cleanout projects are priced on volume, debris type and logistics, and multi-load or ongoing jobs are quoted individually. Describe the pile, or email a photo, and we will give you a clear price up front.
Do I need to be there?
For a dumpster, no — as long as we know where to place it and the area is clear. For a full-service cleanout, someone usually needs to point at what goes and what stays.
Can you take appliances?
Small non-hazardous appliances, yes. Anything with refrigerant, such as a fridge or an A/C unit, only once it has been properly handled. Tell us what the appliance is when you book.
Can you take a mattress or a couch?
Yes — old furniture and mattresses are some of the most common things people clear, from a single room to a whole property.
How fast can you come?
Same-day or next-day availability may be possible across Battle Creek, depending on scheduling. Call early in the day for the best chance.
