Roll-Off Dumpster Rental across Southwest Michigan
Every job we do is a roll-off: a large, open-top rectangular container that rolls off a specialized truck onto your driveway, property or job site. It is temporary, easy to load with furniture, drywall, lumber or debris, and it comes in five sizes from 10 to 40 yards. It is the efficient answer when a project makes more waste than a curbside cart or repeated pickup-truck trips can handle. This page is about the box itself: the sizes, the weight, the space it needs and what the price covers.
The yard is at 923 E Michigan Ave, Battle Creek, MI 49014 — on E Michigan Ave on Battle Creek's east side, on the I-94 Business Loop, about 1.75 miles in a straight line from I-94. Approx. road miles from the yard: central Battle Creek and Springfield 5, Marshall 10, Augusta 12, Climax 14, Bellevue 16, Galesburg 17, Athens and Richland 18, Union City 21, Albion 22, Tekonsha 23, Kalamazoo 27, Portage 30, Homer 32 and Vicksburg 34.

How a roll-off works
The truck backs in and sets the container on the spot you agreed. You load it over the open top, spreading the weight evenly front to back and side to side and keeping everything below the top rim — an overfilled container may not be legal or safe to haul. When you are done, call or message us; the truck comes back, loads it and hauls it. On the road, Michigan law requires every vehicle to be built or loaded so its contents cannot drop, sift, leak, blow off or otherwise escape, and a load that is not completely enclosed has to be covered or fastened down (MCL 257.720).
Space is the thing to check before you book: about 60 feet of clear space for truck access, about 25 feet of clearance overhead, free of wires and branches, and a flat, hard surface such as a driveway, gravel or pavement. Move vehicles and obstacles beforehand, and if you will not be home, mark the spot. If street placement is needed, ask us first: On a Battle Creek street, the code bars placing any object in the street - which runs from property line to property line and takes in the lawn extension and the sidewalk - except temporary obstructions while things are moved to and from the property (§§ 1020.01, 1020.02(a)). The City's fee schedule lists right-of-way permits for lane and road closures and obstructions, and we found no City rule that names dumpsters. So the driveway comes first, and for a street spot we check the City's rules and the placement with you before booking.
What the flat rate includes
Our flat rate can include delivery, pickup, disposal and the rental period, along with the weight allowance for your size — commonly 1 to 2 tons on a 10 yard, up to 5 to 6 on a 40. We do not publish a price list: the price depends on the dumpster size, the material type and weight, the delivery area, the rental length and the number of pickups or swap-outs, so we quote each job on the phone. Two things can add to it: going over the included weight, where the container may be weighed and an overage fee applies, and keeping the container past the rental period, which carries a daily or weekly fee. There are no hidden fuel surcharges or surprise fees. Call (269) 292-6313 for a quote.

Roll-off rental in Southwest Michigan — where the loads go
We work with approved local disposal and recycling facilities whenever possible, and materials such as metal, concrete and certain yard waste may be separated for recycling. The rules set the rest. Michigan law says a person "shall not dispose of solid waste at a disposal area unless the disposal area is licensed" (MCL 324.11512(2)). Michigan law bans certain things from landfills (MCL 324.11514): more than a de minimis amount of yard waste, whole tires or used beverage containers, and any used oil, lead-acid batteries, regulated hazardous waste, bulk liquids, medical waste (with exceptions) and asbestos waste, unless the landfill meets the federal asbestos rule. EGLE says waste taken out of the county where it was generated must be allowed under both counties' solid waste plans. EGLE does not license ordinary solid waste haulers, but towns do: Several places around Battle Creek license haulers too: Springfield (§ 36-137) and Emmett Township, where our yard sits (§ 42-51), use the same model; Albion says "No person shall engage in the business of collection, transportation, disposal or recycling of refuse in the city without first obtaining a license" (§ 66-61) and wants the licensee's name and phone number on both sides of each truck in letters at least four inches high (§ 66-66); Galesburg requires a City licence to collect, transport or dispose of "refuse of any type" (§ 58-62); and Vicksburg licenses haulers of residential garbage (§ 389-18). Our what can and cannot go in guide says where the rest goes.
Answers
Roll-Off Dumpster Rental — your questions answered
Not covered here? Call (269) 292-6313 and ask.
What is a roll-off dumpster?
A large, open-top rectangular container for bulk debris. It gets its name from the delivery method: the container rolls off a specialized truck onto your driveway, property or job site, and is picked up the same way when you are done.
How full can I load it?
Keep everything below the top rim. If a dumpster is overfilled, it may not be legal or safe to haul. Evenly distributed loads also help with safe pickup. If you need more space, call and we arrange a swap.
Do I need to be home for delivery or pickup?
No. As long as we know where to place the dumpster, you do not need to be there — just make sure the area is clear of vehicles or obstacles. Mark the spot and send us a photo if that helps.
How quickly can you deliver?
Same-day or next-day in many areas around Battle Creek, depending on availability. Call early in the day for the best chance of same-day service.
Can I not just take it to a drop-off myself?
For household items, sometimes — but the public options are built for small loads and for residents. Battle Creek's Brice Pit is for City residents only, takes no construction materials and allows no contractor dumping, and the Calhoun County household hazardous waste collection does not take trash, construction and demolition waste or business waste. A roll-off is the option when the job is more than a trunk-load.
What does a roll-off cost in Battle Creek?
We do not publish a price list. You get a flat-rate quote on the phone, depending on the size, the debris, the location and the rental length, and it can include delivery, pickup and disposal with no hidden fees. Call (269) 292-6313 with the address and what is going in, and you will have a clear price before delivery.
